Travel Philippines: The Newest Online Philippine Travel Guide launched

The Philippine tourism industry, headed by the Department of Tourism, in partnership with the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) and tech venture builder HIMO Global Inc., launched the travel app on October 30, 2020.

The online app ‘Travel Philippines’ is the country’s official and newest travel companion. By using this application, tourists can now book, plan, and explore the country’s prime destinations. It can also check the tourist destinations that are now open to tourists with “just a click away.”
Moreover, the app gives users the chance to store digital copies of travel documents securely. Among these are boarding passes, hotel reservations, and medical certificates. Besides, the application is accessible to any device regardless of the user’s use of online and offline browsers.
Interestingly, Travel Philippines also has a built-in itinerary maker that integrates with an extensive catalog of tourist attractions. You can also book a reservation in local restaurants and accommodation establishments. Moreover, users can bookmark the locations they read about within the platform and plan out trips based on their preferences.

With the ever-changing needs and challenges in travel brought about by the pandemic, Travel Philippines will help both domestic and international tourists have safer and more memorable travel experiences amid our ‘new normal’,” according to DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
At its launch, the travel app featured six newly reopened destinations after easing COVID-19 quarantine restrictions. To name, these places are Palawan, Boracay, Bohol, Baguio, Ilocos Norte, and Metro Manila.
In DOT’s promotional video, it cited that the online app will be absolutely beneficial to tourists. In addition, it also guarantees tourists in “discovering whole new places featuring the best things to do, dishes to eat, and places to stay for a safe, and comfortable holiday.”
