QQEnglish 3-day Halloween celebration has teachers and students ‘spookified’
Who says Halloween celebration is canceled? It may be for some school, but despite the COVID-19 pandemic, QQEnglish celebrated Halloween not just for a day but for three consecutive days.
QQEnglish 3-day Halloween celebration has had both teachers and students ‘spookified’ on October 29 until 31 this year.
Halloween, a global festival, became so much awaited, especially my Halloween revelers who never get tired of scaring other people. As early as October 15, teachers from the training section started the Halloween celebration with the Scary Halloween Video contest. The competition challenges teachers to come up with a scary video that depicts stories of ghosts, crimes, supernatural beings, and creatures of the dark.
As the celebration drew nearer, QQEnglish kicked off its 3-day Halloween celebration with a face painting contest. It was followed by the Scary Face Mask Designing contest and Halloween Costume contest and Halloween Virtual Party on October 30 and 31, respectively.
The grand celebration saw students, parents, and teachers dressed up in various costumes online to celebrate the spirit of Halloween. Though some young online learners got horrified with what their teacher’s transformation, most students also joined the activity to spook and scare their teachers. Some of them even dressed up differently during the QQEnglish 3-day Halloween celebration. The students came dressed in various outfits to mark the welcoming of good spirits and driving away from the evil spirits in their lives. The students enjoyed virtual trick or treating and scaring other online students during the Halloween Virtual Party.
-Joy to every student-
“Even if we don’t have offline students in Cebu, I believe we can still enjoy Halloween online,” Mr. Raiko Fujioka, QQEnglish CEO, stated.
“We organized the Halloween event to bring joy to every QQEnglish students in this very sad time. As one of the most anticipated holidays in the world, my team believes that all our students don’t want to miss Halloween. Also, I want to encourage them to appreciate differences in cultures and customs and also to make them aware of global festivals and values.”
For some students, the QQEnglish 3-day Halloween celebration was an amazing experience that took them to the western world. Though some of them celebrated Halloween at home, a lot still enjoyed the grand online Halloween celebration.
“I had a great time dressing up as a vampire during the Halloween activity. It was so much fun! I love dressing up and going,” said Ethan, a Chinese Student from Shanghai.
“The QQEnglish 3-day Halloween celebration was unusual, but it was an exceptional experience. There was Halloween magic, and I even dressed up as a Vampire while my teacher dressed as a zombie. It has been a wonderful experience for me.” said Japanese online student Tsubasa.
QQEnglish Scary Halloween Video Entries
From angry ghosts, bloody crimes, creepy creatures hiding in the dark, and exorcism, the QQEnglish Halloween celebration video entries will scare you to death. Check out these videos and make sure you don’t watch alone because they’ll creep you out.
QQEnglish Face Painting Contest
Zombies on the left. Ghosts on the right. Creepy creatures creeping right in front of you. QQEnglish teachers started the 3-day Halloween celebration with scary face paints. On October 29, the Face painting contest thrilled students. Some enjoyed it while some students freaked out when they saw their teachers’ faces getting horrified. With so much horror in the classroom, some students, especially kids, cried and shouted in fear. What a scary way to start Halloween, right?
Face Mask Designing Contest
With the pandemic going on, people embraced what they once hated doing – wearing a mask all the time. We don’t really do that before, but now; we do it not because we like to but because we NEED to. It may sound a little weird, but this one’s over the top. Instead of just wearing it to avoid breathing in ‘corona’, QQEnglish 3-day Halloween celebration made the scary scarier with a face mask designing contest on October 30.
If you think Lady Gaga is the only person who can only pull outrageous face mask, think again. QQEnglish teachers also did it, but this time, with a more startling horrific Halloween-ish vibe. Check out these photos!
Halloween Costume Contest
What’s the best way to get into the Halloween spirit? A costume contest, of course!
QQEnglish 3-day Halloween celebration became the ultimate best when our teachers donned something scary and funny from head to toe! On October 31st, our teachers went on and wore their most boo-tiful and spooktacular Halloween costumes to let students really feel the Halloween vibe.
Despite having limited materials because of being under quarantine, QQEnglish teachers still made it!
Using ragged clothes, artificial blood, tissue papers, cosmetics, and a bunch of creativity, teachers transformed themselves into something horrifying! Want to see how they bring their chosen character to life? We got you THESE!
QQEnglish Online Halloween Party
Halloween parties are the most sought-after amongst revelers. Because of coronavirus, parties are suspended and you better just consider 2019’s throwback to enjoy it in 2020. Better safe than sorry, right?
But with almost everyone missing Halloween parties, you can enjoy an online Halloween celebration safely from home. And that’s what QQEnglish did to end its 3-day Halloween celebration.
Almost 300 ESL students from different parts of the globe attended the Halloween Virtual party. These online guests dressed up as their favorite Halloween character and showcased what they got.
The two-hour virtual Halloween show gave everyone the same Halloween vibe – a spooky party with a twist and seemed like everyone loved it.
Our 3-day Halloween celebration at QQEnglish ended with a bang, and we did not expect to ace it because of limited resources.
We did it and we are glad that to have scared our students and made them smile in this very gloomy time.
