易混淆同音詞: stair 和 stare

Stare sb Down: 瞪眼怒視某人、 盯得某人不敢再對視下去，有種施加壓力的感覺。
- She was so mad at her boss for not giving her a raise. So, she rushed to him, stared down, and told him she deserved a raise. 她對老闆不給她加薪感到非常生氣。 所以她衝到他身邊，瞪眼怒視的告訴他她應該得到加薪。
Stare sb in the Face : 表示某事是顯而易見的。
- The police realized soon that the solution to his case had been staring him in the face all along: the murderer was the chef! 警察很快地了解到這案件的犯人顯而易見的是那位廚師！
