A lot of English learners get confused when using these words because they sound completely the same. These types of words are called homophones, which means they sound similar. But despite their similar sound, these two words have different meanings. So, how are these two words different from each other? For us to learn how to use the word properly, it would be better if you always remember these few tips when using &#8220;where&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>When <strong>&#8220;where&#8221;<\/strong> is used to refer to a point of reference, the preposition <strong>&#8220;from&#8221;<\/strong> is required.<br \/>Where did she come from?<br \/>From where I&#8217;m standing, things look tiny and unclear.<\/p>\n<p>When using <strong>&#8220;where&#8221;<\/strong> to refer to a destination, we no longer use the preposition &#8220;to&#8221;.<br \/>Where are you going?<strong> (RIGHT)<\/strong><br \/>Where are you going to?<strong> (WRONG)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When using <strong>&#8220;where&#8221;<\/strong> to refer to the location of a person, event, or thing, the preposition is UNNECESSARY.
